Save August 12th-14th on your calendars. Union Science Olympiad coaches are putting on a summer day camp just for Union High School and it’s feeder schools! We will be learning new events and building n ew devices to get ready for the 2008-2009 science Olympiad season. Some of the break out sessions will focus on new events while others will focus on returning events. This will be a great time to spend time with your friends and hone your science skills. Mr. Lemberg, Mr. Akers and Mrs. Ridgway are working hard to put on the best three-day camp for science out there. You will get a chance to use our 3-D printer, Laser cutter, milling machines as well as all of the resources available to learn new events like Environmental Chemistry, Science Quiz, Practical Problem Solving, Map It, or what ever they happen to be (we will know by the June 6th meeting). We will also work on the classics like Experimental design, write-it-do-it and Forensics to name a few. The event will be capped off by a mini tournament on the 14th in the afternoon followed by a family BBQ, awards and a reptile show put on by the Reptile Man. Here is your chance to get up close to a python and cottonmouth. The show is fascinating and you and your family will not want to miss this! Use this fom to save your place today. You must be in the current 7th-12th grade and will be attending Union in the next three years.
